Kara Vavrosky, RDHEP, who is the Co-founder and Chief Content Officer for Today’s RDH, was selected for the 2020 Class of Top Women in Media.
Today’s RDH is a dental website featuring content written primarily by American dental hygienists. Vavrosky is also the administrator for the popular Facebook group, Dental Hygiene with Kara RDH.
The Vancouver, Wash., dental hygienist is one of 19 women selected in the Entrepreneur category. The awards, which are co-sponsored by Folio: and AdMonster, recognized the efforts of more than 100 women in media. The female finalists hold key influential positions in both consumer and business-to-business media.
Vavrosky was invited to participate in the Top Women in Media Awards luncheon gala on Sept. 9 in New York City. Her work will also be profiled on foliomag.com.
The Folio: website said the awards honor women leaders “who have made a lasting impact on their brands, organizations, and markets.”
“Folio: is tremendously proud of our Top Women in Media Awards,” says content director, Caysey Welton. “And for the past seven years, we continue to be blown away and inspired by the impact so many women have on our industry, their companies and peers.”
In addition to the Entrepreneur category, which paid tribute to Vavrosky and Today’s RDH, the other categories were Corporate Champions, Change-Makers, Industry Trailblazers, Motivators, and Up and Comers. Other recipients of the Folio award this year are the Publisher of People Magazine, Chief Marketing Officer of Forbes, SVP of Marketing for ESPN, Chief Revenue Officer of Bleacher Report, the Founder of POPSUGAR, and the COO of Consumer Reports, among others.
