Krystal Afzalzada, BEd, RDH, DAII

Krystal (Hurteau) Afzalzada, BEd, RDH, DAII, is a seasoned dental professional with over 20 years of experience spanning dental hygiene, education, and administration. Based in Whitby, Ontario, Krystal combines clinical expertise with a passion for advancing oral health and professional standards. Her diverse career includes teaching, curriculum development, and hands-on patient care, all of which reflect her commitment to fostering excellence in the dental hygiene profession. In addition to her role as a Faculty of Health Sciences Professor at Durham College, Krystal has guided future dental professionals through comprehensive courses on dental radiography, nutrition, interprofessional collaboration, and practice management. She integrates cutting-edge technology into her teaching to create dynamic and engaging learning environments. Previously, she founded and managed Krystal Clean Smile Clinic, promoting community oral health and adhering to CDHO self-initiation standards. Krystal holds a Bachelor of Education in Adult Education from Brock University and is pursuing a Master of Education at Memorial University.
